Question

Seems when I'm using my trolling motor and try to turn up the speed the motor will cut out and stop but only when it is in the water under load works fine when it is out of the water bought A new foot peddle last year.Any suggestions what it could be? It is A 55pd powerdrive

Had the same problem earlier this year. Cleaned off all the corrosion on the connections and battery terminal and problem solved. Also make sure the battery terminals are very tight. If that does not do the trick take your prop off and make sure you don't have any line tangled up. If line gets wrapped around the prop it can wreck the seal letting water in which will cause the motor to draw to much power. Good luck.
