Underwater Viewing Systems

fishrhunt

Question

Anyone out there using an underwater viewing system? Useful or useless? What have you got? What do you like/dislike? In what situations do you find them useful? I'm thinking of getting one for ice fishing and also for verifying what I'm seeing when looking for schools of deep panfish.

Thanks for the feedback!!

i have an Aqua View camera. i have had it for awhile. it is entertainment for my grandkids and myself at times for one thing. when i'm setting up a tip up in areas i know have weedy spots, it is handy from the point that i can lower it and see if my bait is visible and not hidden by weeds. it is usefull to check the bottom of an area of a lake to see how it would be for jigging or bottom bouncing a spinner rig [looking for rocks or any potential snags.

it is usefull at times to check on species of fish that are suspended. also for drifting over reefs and bars and humps to see if fish are present [thats also entertaining]. i dont like it for night fishing and no longer use it after dark. turn on the light and all you see is balls of plankton and cant see far anyway. may be different with newer models i dont know.

good luck.
