Crosby area bass frenzy! (pics)

Over this past weekend a couple good friends of mine came back home for a few days (one is living in Monticello, the other is working in NoDak) and of course both were anxious to go out fishing. Instead of chasing walleyes we took my buddies boat out and chased bass Friday evening and Saturday morning. Although the fish were not in the deep water we usually find them in they were VERY aggressive and we were able to boat over 25 fish Friday and about a dozen on Saturday, with only a couple of fish under 16" and several over 20".

Rocky shorelines and mid-lake humps held all of the fish and a Texas-rigged Yum Dinger or similar plastic was tops in a pumpkin pattern or blue/black. If we caught one we would work that area over again and usually would pull another, many times bigger than the first.

Don't be stuck with the traditional deep-water patterns typically used this time of year, there are still lots of big fish working the shallows if you find the right stuff!full-38887-22096-jcbass2.jpg
