Anyone here when/if the Belle Plaine Catfish contest is going to be this years. I usually would have received a flyer by now.

Yes, August 10 at 4 p.m. to August 11 at 4 p.m. Contact the Skelleys to participate. I believe Belle Plaine C.o.C. can help you connect with the organizers as well.

FYI You are walking into a hornet's nest...not many catfish regulars on these forums like live transport fish contests.

If you participate I would urge you to follow all fishing regulations, have adequate equipment to keep the fish alive (space, cool water, aeration), and handle the fish with care.

Not to interested in keeping the cats anyway. I've been doing this contest with friends since we were little kids. More of an opportunity to get away from changing diapers and drinking beers with all my high school buddies. I am more of a catch and release kind of guy anyway. Im sure a large cat wouldn't be the best eating anyway.
