Question

We have a 1997 mercury force motor. I know its a cheaper motor., It runs ok but when I trailer it to another lake and have the motor trimmed up it takes a bit to run. It seems like its flooded? anyone know whats going on? Thanks for the help

My mariner will do that from time to time. I always just unplug the fuel line and dont worry about it flooding. The pressure from the hose and the way its tilted lets fuel get past the seats and causes the flooding. Known problem on the older mercs/mariners.

Just prime the bulb as usual, it shouldn't fluid it that fast by doing that. The problem comes from sitting for a period of time, with the pressure from the hose letting fuel pass somewhere within the carbs loading them up. Usually its the needle and seats.
