Lake Owasso Muskies

Hi all. I'm wondering if anybody has fished Lake Owasso for Muskies. If so, have you had any luck? I have had no luck and am also wondering if I should give it up and move on to another lake.

Thanks O2BFSHN. Me and my buddy were out on Owasso last night and nothing. Except my buddy reeled in a sweet bucktail. Sorry whoever lost it. My buddy has another sweet muskie lure in his tackle box now. We were both thinking we should move on. We've fished it out of convenience, much like your buddy. It's close by. I have caught some nice bass in the southwest corner and my buddy caught a lil' 4 lb. piker about a month ago, but that's it.

I hit Owasso a couple times over the Summer. Had a nice little dance with a mid forty inch fish that that left before I could get her measurements. Found that one on the big flat in the only cabbage I could find on the flat. Didn't have my GPS tried to sight mark the area and never found it again. Had another good fish follow up to the boat a couple times on the Northwest end she would have been nice to photo also... I found big profile glide baits to be the ticket out there, the water is pretty murky and I think up sizing your baits is a good idea. Never seen a thing running bucktails or topwaters. Owasso is by no means a number lake but there really are some horses out there if you can find them.

Good Luck

Haha, I also caught a muskie lure by that ski jump this year. It was a 12" Jake crankbait (Im pretty sure thats the name) in perch color, still had the leader attached as well.

The lake can be real hard to fish not many good weed beds. There are a few good cabbage beds that I know of and saw a few muskies around them this spring. But thats it as far as musky spottings go.

I have never seen anyone get one or heard of anyone getting anything while talking to people at the launch either.

Pondhopper,
It was white and red with a large mister twister trailer attached. He caught it off the lily pad edge on the southwest corner. He then immediately used it with no luck of course. The twister did have part of the tail missing. Hmmm? Maybe the big one got away? Chomp.

I have a place on Owasso and have fished that lake all my life. I've put in a lot of time on that lake this year for muskie and ive only caught 1 (also my 1st ever, just started muskie fishing this year). 37 inches. The lake is a tough one to fish but the monsters are out there, I've seen them over the years hanging around the dock. A friend of mine also lost a nice bucktail in that lake. I dont remember what kind it was but he lost it more towards the middle of the lake, not by the jump. I'll have to ask him.

I had found some cabbage too earlier I can't find them anymore. I know the DNR sprayed for weeds earlier in the season but I'm sure they grew back by now. That lake also isnt very clear so I'm sure those cabbage beds are still there. Good luck fishing for the FALL MUSKIES!!!
