I honestly don't know the answer.Boat insurance (and trailer insurance) is generally fairly cheap, and worth talking to your insurance agent about. I honestly don't know the answer.Boat insurance (and trailer insurance) is generally fairly cheap, and worth talking to your insurance agent about. i doubt it but if you did may be worthless. 1 1/2 years ago when i bought mine from online add owner did not have title but did have lifetime trailer license. i went to dmv to transfer licenses and they told me i had to get boat title transfered over cause there was a title for it, i told dmv he did not have a title & they told me until he transfers the title to my name, he was legally responsible even though it was in my possesion. when i called previous owner and told him that he was at dmv in no time for a duplicate title and i had it within a month. im not an expert but i think if you dont have proof that u legally own it, you dont legally own it.
