I live on a rural property and while out mowing last night I almost got this guy with the blades but he was able to move just enough to get my attention first.

He wasn't able to fly very well if at all. I am not sure if it was because he was injured or too young?

After I passed by him a few times he wondered onto the highway you can see in the pic and wouldn't stay off it. I stopped mowing and helped him cross to the other side where the property is undeveloped and the ditch isn't mowed/maintained where he would have a lot more cover.

Hopefully no predators got him. Anyone know what it is, I don't see anything but robins, black birds, doves and a few pheasants out where I am at.
