Taking My Permit Test and MSF Course This Weekend, Any Advice?

Hey guys. So I'm getting into motorcycles, and decided to take the MSF course at Dakota County Technical College. I saw that they require you to get your permit before taking the course, so now I'll be taking my permit test Friday as well. Just looking for any tips or advice on either the permit test or the course. Experiences, tips, trick-type questions, what to expect, that kind of thing! I'm reading up on this manual now

https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/dvs/forms-documents/Documents/MotorcycleManual.pdf

is that a pretty good study guide for the test? Thanks for all your help guys!

The pamphlet you get @ the DMV, if read and take time to read and answer the questios, will give you all the info you need to get your permit.

Then just have fun, and listen to the instructors. Get some good riding gloves. Helps a lot with braking and clutch control. I like my Icon gloves.

*** you will go where you look. So don't look where your going, look where you want to go.***** (this will make cents later) and counter steer to turn...

Yep....keep your head up. You spend your time looking down, that is where you are going. Counter steering is a weird concept, but doesn't take long to get if you don't over think it.

I know the instructors I had were very good and very helpful.

Gloves...make sure that they fit well, too tight and they cut off circulation quick. Looking cool is fine, but sucks if your throttle hand goes numb wink

Study the materials.

Yup. There are a few tricky questions but if you study the material you'll pass the test.

As far as the MSF course, just take it all in and use the instructor's advice and experience to your benefit. Oh, try to get a bike that fits you as best possible. Usually the instructors will work with you in this regard if you ask.
