WI/MN Canoeing

Recommended Posts

This may be a really dumb question, but I am going to ask it:

I live in WI so I do not have to register my canoe. If I wanted to go to MN and canoe, do I need to worry about registration? I would assume not, but wanted to check.

Yes, you need to license it to use it in Minnesota waters if the state it's from doesn't require a license. There area few exceptions to this, sucha s if it's shorter than nine feet in length, if it's a lifeboat, if it's only used during duck or rice seasons. Check out the Minnesota DNR's site. This will give you the answers.
