Trolling a Quick-Strike Rig

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen,
Quick question:
I'm having moderate success hitting pike on a metro lake, but the spots are kind of hit-n-miss. Thing is, the only thing I'm catching them on is a bobber-sucker duo. Trolling seems to be the best option to stay mobile and chase the bigguns ... has anyone here ever tried trolling a quick-strike rib with a sucker?? Seems like it might work, but I'm concerned the bait might troll awkwardly. Any suggestions??
Thx,
Pike

Last fall I fished in Wi. for skis using(Herbie style)quickstrike rigs w/ rubber band thru the sucker's nose. We couldn't use trolling motors there so we used the big motor to get up wind of our structure and then strategically rowed over the structure we wanted to fish. We had setups w/ both bottom bouncer rigs and w/ bobbers made from balloons w/ the bait clicker set on our reels, suckers swam along just fine and it's a tactic I plan on using for big mn pike in the fall. Tightlines!
