dispersed camping?

my wife and I are planning an outing in the end of June, could anybody suggest a possible area for dispersed camping within around 2 hours of Monticello? preferably someplace with a lake with decent fishing from shore?

Bassmagnet the only dispersed camping I use is in the superior national forest.I go to the finland and isabelle area.I have been to fourmile lake which can be A good walleye lake and if you can get a hold of A canoe you can get out to the island and there is A nice campsight on the island and you can fish from shore off the island.I know it is A little farther than you wanted to go but is really nice up there also there is many trout lakes up there you can also fish from shore up there. good luck if you have any questions Ill be happy to help if I can

You can disperse camp at most of the State Forests, here is an interactive map of them. By the end of June the shallow bite is usually done with though. Would think the St. Croix park would be your best shot, although bet there are some sweet little honey holes for bass and bluegills in particular, in some of the ponds and small lakes in the remote areas of the some of those parks.......
