Eagle Sonar Losing Bottom Signal

MNBIGBEAR

Question

Hello, I have a Fishmark 480 mounted on a Almacraft Trophy 175. Ever since I got the unit, it has frequently "lost" the bottom signal and will just start flashing at me. This happens almost every time I am moving and will also happen even if Im sitting completely still so I dont think it is a cavitation or air bubble problem. I have moved the transducer a couple times now and no difference. My next suspect is electrical interference. I have the power cord connected directly through the fuse block under the steering column and the transducer cable comes through the rod box next to the motor cables. Would there be a better way to set this up? I have tried operating the sonar with nothing on but not sure if it would still be picking up noise from somewhere. Any advice would be great...Getting to the point of getting rid of it and trying a Humminbird.

Since its acting up while sitting still I'd have to think your ducer could be the problem.

I've got a 480 DF and replaced the 200/50 ducer 4 times and finally went with just the 200 ducer.

It wouldn't hurt to try a reset on the unit by pressing the zoom up and down key while pressing the power button on.
