Neat article on the new Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City, which includes the "Sand Lake": http://www.press-citizen.com/article/201...coming-together

I haven't fished the Sand Lake for a few years now, as it is on the other side of town from me, and got hit hard when it opened. The big crappie and bluegill that were there got wiped out pretty quickly.

I am not sure that having no trash receptacles in the new park will be a good idea in practice. The theory of taking your garbage out with you is a great one, but many people can't seem to do that even when there are trash cans provided.
