How to Stop Black Stuff on Aluminum Gunnels??

Hello...I have a 2000 Lund Rebel with aluminum gunnels. The problem is that as the aluminum oxidizes it gives off a black powder (black slime when wet). Is there some coating/wax that I can use to coat the gunnels and stop the black plague?

I am going to put SharkHide on my new pontoons when it arrives. The pontooners down south have been using it for years with good luck. As far as I know there is only one dealer in MN, in Outing. But you can buy online too. I can't vouch for the stuff, but I know many rentals on the bigger chains in the Gull WFC area use it, and keep using it.

I personally like JJV's Best alluminum cleaner better than anything. Super easy to use also.

JJV's is great for cleaning, but it won't keep the black from returning. The black is a corrosion product and the metal needs to be sealed to stop that.
