24v trolling motor wiring.

Question

Switching from 12 to 24. I have the 12/24 run/charge switch up front with Red, black, orange and white wires in battery area. Do the orange and white connect to the other battery? I'v been using black and red for the 12v system all along.

Sorry if I'm high jacking your thread, but I bought a new for me boat with an older 42lb minnkota. The boat has a black,a red and an Orange wire back by the battery area. The boat has a trolling motor plug in the front as well as the back of the boat. I don't use a transom trolling motor,so I just put the Orange and red on the positive terminal, and works fine. Is it possible to have a 24volt system on such a small trolling motor? Should I hook the red to one battery, and the Orange to another, and ground to one battery? Sorry again if I'm high jacking, but thought the admin might bump my question over here anyway
