Devils Lake road construction and Grahams Island??

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knows how the road situation is this year? I know last year there was quite a bit going on on Hwy 19 west of DL and it was gravel when I was there. Also, anyone know if Grahams Island is open this year? Thought someone told me it was shut down from the road flooding, not sure if that's true? Anyways, can't wait to get my butt out there and cast for some walleyes!

hwy 19 was finished last fall west of the town of devils lake. Pretty sure grahms road is open too. Water is down about a foot from last year.

Went down to Grahams Island last week. Full construction all the way down the road from the main Hwy (19 ?). We were pulling boats and the road was *really* rough, took about 30 minutes due to how rough the road was.

Also lost a lot of areas for shore fishing that normally could have been used along that road. That was kind of a bummer as we used to fish along that road when the wind is too strong to bother putting in the boats.

Road construction is nearing an end. Talked to park personel, they started black top last Thursday . Still running into soft spots, grand opening August 3. Lots of dignitaries suppose to be there. Was still nice driving on final grade, only slow down for trucks.
