Doop
Does anyone have any information on using 3-way rigs for pike in the summer? I think I understand the basic principle...get your bait deeper where the bigger pike are...but i'm a little confused about the set up. How heavy of a weight do you use to get your crankbait down to the bottom? Do you want it to go to the bottom? What kind of crank's do you use? What kind of weight? Bell sinker? Would you be able to use a no-snag lindy sinker? Any ideas on this would be great!
iland99
Lindner's Angling Edge had a segment about this about a month ago. If I recall correctly, they just used a heavy bell-type sinker. I don't see why a bottom bouncer or equivalent wouldn't work. For the lure, they used a big floating rapala.
MT Net
I'm sure bottom bouncer would work for pulling larger sized crakbaits down deep. For walleyes, generally 1 oz. of bottom bouncer for every 10 feet of depth worked. Maybe upsize the bottom boncer due to larger crankbait size? You may have to experiment. Any stick bait should work. i've never tried a deep trolling crank, like a shad rap on a b.bouncer.good luck!
