Camcorder repair

Recommended Posts

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD60 HD camcorder that got a little wet. Not talking soaked, but had a few drops from a splash/wave. Blew them off and the camera shut down. Now it tries to turn on, but won't. Could be a simple fix, could be a paper weight. Anyone recommend a place to take it to. It's not super expensive, but don't feel like paying for another one. I'm in Brainerd, but could bring/mail it most anywhere.

Thanks,

Carp

You could try what they recommend for a cell phone. Put it in a Tupperware container with lots of rice and some silica packets if you have them. Leave it in there for a few days with out the batteries. This will pull the moisture from the inside and if it doesn't start after that, then you will have to take it in.

I know a guy that dropped a point and shoot in the water, like fully submerged. Put the camera in a bag a rice and after six months it worked just fine. You might not need six months, but it is worth a try.
