Wonder how many use a quick release mount for there Minn kota bow mount motors.I have a Terrova 80 after reading some reviews concerned about tightness of motor to mount.Looked at the slide together less expense model but seemed to have slack where it would wiggle around.Anyone have the more expense mounts, which one and how do they work?

Most guys go with quick release mounts. I haven't had one on my own boat for years, because I never take the motor off.

If you take your motor off for traveling, docking, storage, pleasure boating, etc. then I'd say by all means go with one. If you never take the motor off then I'd say they're not necessary.

As long as they're mounted properly - right size bolts in the bolt holes, big fender washers, lock nuts, nuts tightened adequately, etc. then I think they're fine. I rarely hear any complaints from guys using them.

Hope that helps!

I've had one on every boat i've owned (slide mount) and never had any problem with them even on the roughest of waters. Plus it makes getting your travel cover on much easier, i just pop it off and lay it on the casting deck, dont have to disconnect the graph or power cords either. I fully recommend getting one..
