Whitebass on the croix

Any idea when the whitebass start biting on the croix? Over by osceola and taylors falls and what lures to use... Any other places to catch whitebass thats not too far from the metro area?

I usually see them throughout the month of April with stronger runs and bites in those areas the last two weeks of april and into the first couple weeks of May. There are a variety of lures that peeps use to catch them. Some like white twisters, mepps spinners, small countdown raps, small shad raps or the old jig and minnow. Look for surface activity early and late in the day and work the shorelines. The fish tend to like sandy substrate with but will hang near current breaks as well.

I remember one year, it was Easter Sunday and the whitebass was starting to bite. That was about the earliest I've caught them. Was kind of a fluke for just trying for an unseasonally warm weather. Maybe this year might be similar.
