Possible Pontoon

Ice Shack Baby

Recommended Posts

I have an opportunity to get a pontoon at a very good choice. ~$500. Best guess is right around a '89 24 foot Aqua Patio. Boat does not come with a trailer and is in pretty rough shape. A. Would it be worth fixing up? B. Any guesses on the cost to repair and get a trailer? The floor seems good and not spongy. Motor ran a couple of years ago.

The tubes alone are worth that! Not sure about the trailer market up your way. New ones can be had for as little as $2000, used ones are usually hard to come by around here, and not a whole lot cheaper.

Salvage value is more then $500. That looks like a nice project boat for somebody. Pontoon trailers are available for rent everywhere, don't let that deter you. If it was me, I would scoop it up if you have the time to rebuild it.

Let us know what you decide.

I redid the flooring on an old pontoon and it wasn't all that bad. Only took about a month of work over the weekends, working around 6-8 hours per day. Pull off everything from deck, strip down to bare floor, glue on new carpet, paint railings, bolt railings back in, and voila - you've got yourself a nice pontoon.

I've even got some pontoon furniture you can have for free near Alexandria if interested. vikings_numberone_fan (at) yahoo (daht) com
