Musky mania's surface lure the doc

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you guys use
musky mania's doc. It's a walk the dog
type lure. It's made of plastic so it should
last. I was just wondering if anybody has used this lure and what they thought about
it. How does it compare to the jackpot. Feed
back would be appreciated.

I love them both! They both have their time and place. The DOC seems to be a bit heavier and works great in a chop. The rattle is nice on some days too. The Jackpot has always been my "Goto" lure, and still gets used the most.

The DOC will have a wider swing and glide, the Jackpot stays in line and just moves it's head from side to side -- both moves can be a great trigger.

I have both a Jackpot and a Doc. I've never had much luck on either, but then the prop style baits are what get 90% of my time when I'm throwing surface.

As far as action and ease of use, I give the nod to the Doc hands down. It's a heavier bait, has an easier side to side glide, especially in choppy water. I think the added weight will result in more hook ups versus blow ups, as the lighter weight of the Jackpot will result in the bait being pushed away by a rush of water easier. It seems that the favoritism of these two baits is pretty split. I'm sure it's just more of a confidence thing with people. I would say get both, use them both, and you will be able to decide which one works best for your needs/likes.
