What kind of leader doe I use in clear water?

I haven't done much muskie fishing but I know some people use 100# mono for leaders. hope this helps

I use Invisa-leaders (sp?) and titanium leaders. I just piked up a couple titaniums at Fleet Farm today. They cost a little more, but they are tough.

I just use Sevenstrand wire in tests 50 lb or better. You can get it at Cabela's. That narrow wire doesn't show much in the water, and I make my own leaders with that, ball bearing swivels and snaps on the ends. Easy, fairy cheap. Coated leaders work OK, but the plastic eventually wears off anyway, and plastic makes them thicker and allows light to reflect off it. Solid wire works good too, and you can find that at bulk tackle stores as well.

I never use silver colored leaders/tackle if I can avoid it. Too visible. Not that pike/musky care much about that, but I just figure it's better to make line/terminal tackle as invisible as possible.

Plus, you never know when you might troll or retrieve that lure in front of a giant walleye.
