Deadliest Catch- Season 8

+1. Elliot frustrates me more than any person on any other show that I watch, and I cannot beleive that the boat owner will let him captain again. I too like "Junior" more and more when I see him and his boat.

Yeah, I didn't think it'd be that flat either.

Full paint job, reinforced bow plating for ice, new Cummins engines, new generators, wheelhouse interior makeover/refresh.

those guys will get a killer new paint job on it too. Remember when Sig repainted the NW to have it stand out a bit. I didn't think those boats would be flat bottomed either.

I have been pulling for Scott on the seabrooke too, I hope he does team with Edgar next season

Next season could be something new to watch with the Northwestern(possibly Edgar in the wheelhouse) and Junior going after blue crab. Anyone catch the payouts at the end of the show? The Wizard boys got 150 grand each and the rest of the fleet got 80 grand tops. I know the Wizard caught more crab, but to make twice what everyone else got is pretty impressive. Must be why Keith handed over the reigns to Monte, he knew he had the season in the bag. Maybe it was hyped up for T.V., but the Wizard looked awfully close to running into shore when the ice jammed up the cooling lines. How do they get those shots of a boat in trouble? Risk another boat in the ice too?

I think this was the best season yet! And it paved the way for what could be an even better season next year! I definitely thought Jake was on meth too...he looks terrible! The best thing Josh can do is cut ties with him, trying to run a ship with him would be very bad for business! If he's gonna be a caption and/or owner, he will only succeed if he goes solo.

they have chase boats that follow them around to get footage and from what iv seen there some pretty big boats as well that cant be cheap for the discovery network to fuel all those boats. from what you guys are saying about the last episode i think its time to fire up the dvr and watch it.

    • Yeah it was a beatdown
    • Your kid needs to stay with him!👍
    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
