TopGun
Well I finally saved enough money to buy a newer boat. I currently have a 1236 jon boat with a 15hp johnson. My buddy has a 2003 v-14 Alumacraft tiller model for sale. I think it's 70-73 inches wide and takes a long shaft. His price was $2k without a motor. Question is, is this a good deal without a motor? Was thinking I can sell the jon boat package then get a tiller motor as well. I don't go to big bodies of water and only fish local lakes like centerville and Johanna. Any input appreciated. Valv
Best thing is drive down to St Peter and visit the plant, then choose the model. You will have to buy at a dealer, but they will give you all the info.
MNice
That price sound very high to me witjhout a motor. Check the list by craig to get some prices.
TopGun
Further research on CeeList and I found thisIts a 2001 Alumacraft T14V with 2003 15hp Merc 2 stroke, nice trailer, 2 swivels, 2 anchor mates, 30lb Minnkota. $2595
bASS_BLASTER
2K without a motor? From a friend, that is pricey. My opinion, not a good deal. I bought my first boat & trailer without a motor for $200 then later found out that a good working, used motor 50hp+, cables, setup, etc.. will cost me about $2500+. I sold the boat. You can find many boats on a list of websites for around that price and you'll get a motor, trailer and boat.
Raider4ever
Ain't much of a "Buddy" if he's asking 2k for a 9 yr old, 14 ft tiller boat w/o motor. Hopefully it at least comes with a trailer. Look around on various sites or google used boats for sale. That will give you more than enough sites.
bASS_BLASTER
btw, you can buy a brand new 15-17' flat bottom for $1500 at the big C. No trailer though.
bASS_BLASTER
I can't help but think how sad it is for you to have a friend like that. Just wanted to tell you there is a 16' boat, comes with motor and trailer on the C list for $1K.
TopGun
I'm thinking it cost like $5000 new for just the boat and trailer. Also the boat is fairly new. But yes, friend must value $$$ more than friendship....
