Looking to do some upgrading of spinning reels this summer, just want to hear your thoughts, I want to stick with quantum spinning and the 2 reels that I was looking at is the Exo PTi, and the Smoke. I would like to hear input about these 2 reels if anyone has any....Thanks

I have the smoke baitcaster and it's been pretty good, but I have low mileage on it. The difference between the Smoke and Exo is pretty minimal, the Exo has an extra bearing and is a bit lighter. You will probably be happy with both, 1 is just easier on the wallet than the other.

I don't have experience with those two reels, however if you're looking for a quantum spinning reel and you're looking at those two, feel free to to take a look at their saltwater lineup.

I have a Cabo PT in the biggest version it comes in. With the right surf casting rod, it casts 30lb braid mainline with 30 feet of 100lb braided top shot a country mile. It also tackles the biggest snook and redfish the gulf of mexico has thrown at me, along with countless sharks (no big ones yet though). It's smooth as could be and has spent its life no further than a few hundred yards away from the beach and still no wear and tear or rust issues. Part of that is regular cleaning, rinsing, lubricating, and using the product "reel magic". For the past few years it's been my go-to reel for gamefish saltwater fishing.

I absolutely adore my Cabo PT and would buy another in a heartbeat if I needed one.
