My first attempt at a video:) The colors not good, no sound...gotta start somewhere, right?

Anyway, this was a few snippets I shot yesterday morning, out of our 2 windows facing the deck. Mostly Redpolls, our Pine grossbeaks have been thinning out the last week or 2, but still a few in there.

Ok...it's kind of long, and not too exciting. I tried to capture just how many birds are here at any one time, but the video doesn't do it justice. it's like that every morning...I'm trying to ID a couple new species I've seen just briefly but the only one I'm sure are in the mix now are a few pine siskins.

That's what I call a lot of birds. And no, since I rarely see a bird at my feeders this winter, I didn't find it boring, and I watched the whole thing. smile You must go thru a lot of seed. When I was at the Sax Zim Bog a little over a week ago, I saw just 1 pair of Pine Grosbeaks. I was too intent on getting a good shot of a RB Nuthatch that I didn't pay much attention to them since I already had good pics of the Grosbeaks from a previous trip.

Thanks for sharing the video.

BTW, I hope your avatar isn't a self portrait. grin

Yeah, the seed bill is kind of out of hand. I'm on my last of 3 50 lb bags I bought about a month ago:) It's worth it though...every time i go outside, I hear birds singing somewhere, whether I can see them or not. Sometimes it's downright noisy!

It will be interesting to see what I get here come spring...I'm going to try to keep the level of feed up there, I figure any random birds migrating thru will be able to spot the activity in my yard for a loooong way away!
