Does anyone know what the color code is for for the St. Croix spring Bobbers?

I know there are 4 of them

Light

Medium

Medium Heavy

Heavy

I'm just not sure which one it is that I have. I want to pick up another spring, and have two but not sure which two I have.

If memory serves me correctly, I have one with the pick tip & one with a Green tip.

I can tell you from personal experience that you can not rely solely on the color code for the spring actions...

It appears that St Croix over the past seasons either have been careless with color coding or have been switching vendors with their spring materials and spring actions and therefore.... by having two pink springs doesn't mean they will have the same action or grade... I have some orange, some pink, and some green and I can say that some feel different that others even of the same color.. yet they don't necessarily feel the same as the next level down or up in spings either.. my only conclusion is that the materials were being either tested, or adjusted, or are just different than one another perhaps from differing batches or sources..

Either way.. you'll really need to just try out each spring and see which one fits your application best..

They will all work to some degree...

When I bought my springs a few years back, I got all of them at the same time so they are from the same year, and got them on clearance. I won't be buying anymore of them since I found a way to actually make the springs out of stainless steel leader wire and a glow bead. I just want to mark the current ones I have so I know what they are. It will be nice not having to drop $7-10 for a spring when it gets bent or destroyed.
