Has anybody used these before and does it catch fish? What size and color work best? Targeting walleyes, perch, panfish in the metro and mille lacs. How do you choose the right size for the type of fish? I don't want a jig thats too big. I usually fish 1/16 but theres other sizes on their HSOforum that I cannot tell the size off without a picture comparing them next to eachother.

bought a few at ice fishing show as "most" experts claimed the new "go to" jig this year for walleyes and pannies, i used on early ice with no success (but did not have success finding fish either). have not used since cause my fishng luck has been horrible this season. supposed to be great with plastics or minnow, also saw video from someone on here catching wallys on mille lacs with plain jig, no extra bait. i cannot attest to any success rate yet though.

I use the 1/4 oz for walleye and run the 1/8 for perch. Normally tipped with a live minnow or to get real wild with it go with a 2.5” or 3" plastic minnow. Incredible swimming action.

As for finicky panfish look at the micro sizes tipped with a waxie oe or other creepy crawly

For pike or lakers get the big 5/8 with a plastic tail and hang on.

Thanks Caman, that really helps.

Johnny P , those sizes seem big for those kind of fish. I've never had any luck with such big size lures.

What colors are hot that can be use on a lot of lakes? I know it depends on the water too.

Was sight fishing panfish in the metro, they were biting fairly steady. Tried the micro slick jig and all the sunfish got very aggresive. With the other jigs I was useing I had to coaxe them to take the bait. They were attacking the slick jig with eurolarve.

I fish the 3/16 and 1/4 oz ones for walleye. Somedays when my spoons aren't producing I have a rod rigged with the slick jig and it has produced. I'm not saying everytime but enough that it warrants having a dedicated rod. I usually have better luck being fairly aggressive with it too. Watch my flasher closely and watch them come to it. I often sit on two holes spaced about two feet apart and will have a jigging spoon in the slow hole. Alot of times I can use the slick jig to draw enough attention that if I just barely jiggle or quiver my jigging spoon they will move over and take that.

Funny...I was running the exact same 2 lures much of the early hot bite, but with opposite technique. I'd mostly aggresivly jig with the flyer and leave the slick jig motionless. Sometimes they took the jig while it was still, sometimes I'd give it one quick bounce off bottom and then set it down and they'd hit it a second or 2 later.

It just goes to show how there are multilpe ways to be effective with the same tackle.
