new compact reel seat by Thorne Brothers

I just wanted to share the new reel seat that Thorne Brothers worked up for me on some ice rods. I've always appreciated the St. Croix legend reel seats, so I finally broke down and ordered some up along those lines.

I like being able to take the reels off and on, particularly for mulch-species trips where a few different action rods might come into play and space could potentially be a concern. Another advantage is I can hide a couple of fly reels in my bag and not have to dork it up unless I absolutely need to..

Anyhow, here it is. A big thanks to Lonnie for taking the time to work this out with me. The day I ordered them, he actually took the time to mock-up exactly how this would work before I left the shop, super deal IMO. I'm very pleased with the final outcome, just need to get out and use them.
