TUF LINES!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Just spooled my c5 with a fresh spool of 80# tuf line. Am I missing out by not being able to find the Plus or Pro? Are there really advantages with these lines? Or are they all the same? If I remember right the plus line doesn't hold water? What do you guys spool up with for applications of baits 1-3.5 ozs?

I've been using Tuff Lines for several years now and like them quite a bit. You are right, the Tuff Line Plus does not hold as much water, which can be a blessing in the late fall. The Tuff Line XP doesn't seem to pack on and come off my reels as nicely, and its a tiny bit stiffer, so I might get a couple more back lashes with it per hundred casts, but its still great line. And the regular Tuff Line is just all around good stuff. Obviously you'll want to keep an eye out for frays, but its certainly not more prone to that than other super lines.

David,
I noticed you mentioned trolling Tuf-Line. I am thinking of switching to Whiplash this year for trolling to get the baits down deeper. I take it you've trolled a thinner diameter superline, how much difference is there? Lets say when trolling a Grandma or a Slammer.
