problems with my showdown, erratic displays

I have a showdown flasher that i bought when it first came out by Nature Vision or maybe the second year im not sure. The display is giving me trouble as it flashes between different screens and shows different depths. For instance if im fishing 20' of water the screen will flicker back and forth showing 236' then to 4' and then back to the 20' again then it will work ok for a few minuets then start flickering to different depths??

also the down button isn't working properly.

where can i take it to get it serviced if it can be serviced at all????

I'd hate to send it out cause by the time i'd get it back fishing season would be over.

marcum headquarters, which took over the showdown line, is in crystal, mn (in the TC). contact them thru their HSOforum marcumtechdotcom.

this will not effect the down button issue but have you tried a new battery. a lot of times a bad battery and low power will cause the issues you describe and you can pick up a new one for $15-20 locally or borrow one for a test.

Customer Service

Well, I got back my Showdown back from customer service today. The unit couldn't pick up a jig & the buttons would work off and on.

I got a sheet of paper back today with the unit. It says that they replaced the face plate, and re did the upgrade again and it took 30 min of "burning" has written on the note.

First off, I'm worried about if the face plate was truely replaced. If it was replaced why wasn't there a protective film on the new face plate. Second, I could see dried water spots on the unit. Hopefully, someone took it to a lake and tested it. I'm highly doubting that though. I just hope that I don't have problems again with the buttons working regardless.

I haven't got to try the unit out yet, and hope that redoing the upgrade will fix the unit's inability to pick up a lure.

Hope you get the unit working again.
