Does anyone have any tips/suggestions that they would like to share? pound test line, hook size, bait, ect... musky hunter Posted April 5, 2003 Share Posted April 5, 2003 Try using dead smelt. Northers just seem to love the smell of smelt. The could be rigged on a quick strike rig. honker23 Posted April 7, 2003 Share Posted April 7, 2003 I agree with musky hunter, you can also fish off the bottom, just put a small piece of foam or cork in the mouth of the smelt, it helps prop the bait up on the bottom.
