Wheelhouse battery question

I know this depends on how much 12 volt items you are running, but I am curious about how many hours of use I should expect from my 12v deep cycle marine battery. Mine seems to only get about 8 hours of use running just 3 or 4 ceiling lights and a small fan.

All depends on how many watts your lights and fan use and what capacity battery you have.

1 amp hour on a 12v battery is 12 watts. So you can run a 12 watt light for 1 hour using 1 amp hour.

I have a size 29 deep cycle marine and can run my 18,000 btu attwood furnace for at least 4 full days on a trip before needed the geni.

you figure out how many amps you are drawing, divide that into the amp hours of the battery and you will come up with a approximation number of hours of use.

of course temperature, age of battery... number of factors enter in.

but your mileage may vary

I run a battery that is rated at 125 hours @ 1amp. in my permanent. typically 12 volt overhead bulbs pull 2 amps each and a fan about 4 so you would be pulling 12 amps in your case on a battery like I have which would equal about 10 hours of use.

so if you are getting 8 that is good I would think.

just the way I figure things and as I said earlier, but your mileage may vary
