smeese
Any Ideas? I have the simple aluminum fishing boat with nothing to mount a bow mount too? Any options for this?
stizoler
I added a small platform made out of wood to the nose of the boat. I used aluminum angle to frame it out snd bolted it into the boat. This worked great, but I ended switching to a transom mount trolling moter for my small boat. I know your brother could give you some ideas... PerchJerker
When I had a simple aluminum fishing boat I had a transom mount motor. At times I used it on the transom. At times I moved it up to the bow. When using it at the bow, I clamped it to two 1x6 boards, one on the inside of the boat, the other on the outside of the boat. The two boards were held together by two nylon straps and just hung over the gunnel .... when I did not have the motor on the bow, I had the boards stowed in the boat. I also turned the head around on the motor when I used it in the bow. It was a great setup, worked great, tons of versatility .... the only drawback is that it was hand-controlled, not foot controlled.
