After 3+ years of trouble free use my unit has developed a leak. It had a flare up incident yesterday but luckly no damage to the porty. I got it lit after the flare up but could tell it was not burning cleanly, had a slight gassy smell. After short move and attempted relight I could smell escaping propane. Is there any authorized service in the F-M area or better to contact Mr.Heater directly ??

Luckly I do have a back up unit so I can keep on fishin !!!

While on Lida yesterday we experienced what I would call an "ice quake". It was like the the whole sheet shifted. I have felt many cracks and small vibrations before but nothing like this. My first thought was where do I run to cuz were goin down...freaked me out !!!

We were 100 yards west of the Clay Point heave. Anybody else feel this ?

Results for the day...4 smaller pike 3 largomouth bass,1 nice gill. Kept the pike and gill released the bass.

Not related to the heater, but we experienced the same thing on Gull yesterday near Brainerd! Scared a few of us! It defiantely made the rest of the afternoon and evening a little more interesting thinking at any time we may go for a swim! We were also about 100-150 yards form an ice heave, so that was our thought on the "feel" .vs. the sound? I have noticed that when I bought a 12' hose and 20lb cylinder and ran the filter that my tank wouldn't supply the heater with enough propane without freezing up shortly after using it? Maybe I just can't use the filter with the unit? I did notice with mine the first time using it the filter while connected to the unit wasn't tight, so there was a slight gas smell. I used some of that white hose tape from the hardware store and then decided the 1lb tanks were worth the less hassle of the weight while pulling the sled on glare ice...
