Hook/Weight Size For Sturgeon In The Spring On Rainy

What do you guys recommend? I'm thinking 4/0 with a 3 oz? I know it'll be more accurate later on when we know what kind of spring it's going to be, but I'm just looking for general ideas. Thanks!

4-5/0 with 1-3' of leader & sinkers ranging from 1-5oz. i like as little weight as possible. last year in the river we needed 9oz but that was about as bad as it gets. this spring should be alot better though

Agree 100%. Last year was nasty but generally 3-4 oz is the norm.

In 16 years up there I have fished with as little at 3/4oz to as much as 8 ounces or more. No real "norm," IMO as it depends on where you fish and too many other variables. Bring lots of sinkers and be prepared either way. I use a 3/0 octopus hook and have never had an issue with fish from 12" to 60+". These days, though, you may cast out 3oz and end up with 15oz as you cross four other lines...too many people now for my taste! As fun as it gets if you can stand the crowds, though.
