good spot to bring kids

hello i just recently got into ice fishing

and i havent been doing very well but i rilly enjoy it

and was wondering is there a good spot to take the famly

i have 3 kids ages 3-4-6

i would like them to have fun and catch some fish

i am not looking for monsters a few good keepers would be great

but for the most part i would like the kids to get some action

i will be to busy untangling lines to fish anyhow lol

i am in central mn would like to stay kinda close to home within an hr drive

I think there are people on here who would send you a private message with a spot, but you'll have to give us a little more than "Central MN" if you want suggestions within an hour. Your best bet would be to go to the MN Regional Forums and find the area you're interested and post your question there.

By the way, good luck. That's great that you're looking to get your family out. I'm not in Central MN, but I have a few spots in my area that I'm usually willing to "cough up" to people who are taking kids out--I'm sure there are folks near you who will do the same.

I am also looking for the same type of fishing. I have a seven year old daughter that loves to fish but is getting bored cause she is not catching anything. I want to keep her interested. we live in Somerset WI. anyone have any spots for us to try? Thank you so much!

Twin pine just south of the polk cty line is good for small perch and crappies.

i just found the regional section

that is kinda nice i have been reading

some info on there i got a few spots in mind

i know most ppl dont like to give up hot spots

Bald Eagle in White Bear Lake. Find the deep water out by the island and crappies will be stacked on the bottom 5 to 10 feet. You will catch them all day long but don't expect many over 7 inches. When I used to live down there I would bring my rookie buddies there because I knew they just wanted action and didn't care about size. Good luck!
