Check to see if you hear the ducer clicking, if no clicking chances are it's bad.... Also check all connections and wires to eliminate a weak connection or bad cable.. As far as replacement choices you have either single or Tri beam to choose from....

If the ducer is bad then I would get a hold of vexilar and have it replaced. I sent mine in to them two or three weeks ago and had it back in three days free of charge and no questions asked.

I have the FL22 with the tri-beam. Fantastic customer service and very nice people there.
