Wiring a fish house?

Would wiring a house for both 120V and 12V be the way to go?

How far up from the floor do you string wires thru the frame?

What size wire for 12V?

I'll use greenfield for the 120V!

Do you put a ground fault for the 120V?

Where to buy this stuff? smile

Skid house or wheelhouse? Do you already have a generator?

I wired my wheelhouse for both, and I used 14 gauge wire for the 12V. Go to any hardware store or big box store and get 12 or 14 gauge primary wire, stranded. We ran the 120 up the wall to the ceiling then ran it over the door and down to where we put outlets in above the countertop. I only put 2 outlets in at the front of the wheelhouse and I wish I had done 2 more towards the back. I have 12V running all over the place, 3 ceiling lights, 2 cig. plugins, inside my 2 front cabinets to put lights below. ran some to the back bunk and installed 2 hole lights on the front of the bunk (more for a night light for the hubby) and some on an upper wall by the top bunk for a fan. The guys at Appeldoorn's use this type of wire from the big M store, it is 14 gauge with 2 wires on the inside of a dark brown casing. I couldn't find it up here so I used 2 separate wires a white and a black.

Lots of variables? How many lights? What type? (led, etc) What will you use the 120 volt outlets for? 12 volt outlet? What will you use for a power source? Generator? What wattage and voltage?

Its not hard to do, you just have to decide what you want.

My plan is to 2 or 3 120 volt outlets in the v, and maybe 1 on each side about halfway back, also 1 under the back bench/bunk. I think that I will use 12 awg for the 120 outlets, haven't decided if I will use NM or 3/8 flex. I

12 volt plan is 2 in the v, add 1 each side about halfway back. I have 14 awg for the receptacles and 16 awg for the lights. I am planning on led recessed in the ceiling and camper door outside style with led lamps.

Also I plan to make the 110 volt outlets GFCI protected, it is cheap insurance.
