Any Advice For Northerns In The BWCA?

We're heading out from Moose Lake on June 29th, up the Knife, into Cache Bay and to Silver Falls and other misc. falls up there. Then heading down McEwen and into Louisa Lake. Finishing back at Moose and coming out on July 4th. Any advice on what lures to use or which lakes to hit in that area for some really nice northerns? I'm planning on using the DareDevil spoons as well as the Red Eye spoon. Wasn't sure what else to pack. Any help would be great and thanks!

Johnson weedless minnows. Also a jar of Uncle Josh pork rind bass strips -- in the red/white if you can find them, otherwise plain white.

Johnson Spoons -- don't leave home without them.

Glad to hear it. Any idea what water temp you were fishing to get lakers that shallow? I assume it was shallow, since Johnson spoons are not deep runners unless you should let it sink and use it as a spoon jig.

The Johnson weedless minnows worked GREAT up in the BWCA. The funny thing was, the Lake Trout liked them just as well as the Northerns did! Either way, it was a great time. Thanks for the advice!

Water temp was surprisingly very warm. Darn near air temp. I did let the spoon fall for a little bit in order to get some more depth out of it. The hot spots were by islands that had steep rock-like cliffs on the side which created some deeper water right off shore...I'd say nearly 10 ft from shore is where they were biting for us. I too thought the Lakers would be deeper.
