Ive had decent luck there with the bass and and little northern on tip-ups. I mainly used medium sized shiners in 15 fow. The panfish wern't any thing to get exited about. Its probably a good thing that the launch is closed, but I'm assuming one could still park and walk out hopefully.

Just came across this on another site sounds like the ice isn't doing to good.

"Turtle Lake Vehicle Access Closed by Ramsey County Sheriff’s Water Patrol

Effective Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., all vehicle access to Turtle Lake in Shoreview, Minnesota, has been closed by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Water Patrol until further notice.

The thin ice, open water, and two incidents of people breaking through the ice in the past 24 hours led to the decision of the Ramsey County Sheriff to close vehicle access to Turtle Lake under State Statute 86B.106. Additionally, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office asks that all persons stay off Turtle Lake due to thin ice conditions.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office also asks people to use extreme caution on all other lakes in Ramsey County due to the warm weather. While surface ice on lakes and ponds has the appearance of being stable, the Water Patrol is discouraging the public from walking or driving any vehicle or ATV on ice until further notice.

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, a skater and an ATV rider broke through the ice on Turtle Lake in two separate incidents, neither was injured."
