I was out last night, drove (a wheeler) by a fish house with 3-1/2 ton trucks sitting around it. I drilled 11", but by no means am I recommending to drive on 11". I like 6-7 before I go out with a wheeler.

the Mn DNR lists 8-12 inches for cars and small trucks. 12 inches of good ice will carry a fair amount of weight--if 12 inches all the way to where you are heading. funny isn't it that the same areas with channels and such always have people going down every year because they think 12 off the landing means 12 everywhere. If I have 12 I walk and check every 100yards or so prior to driving out.
