Butterworms

I see FF has Buttworms next to the waxies in their bait cooler. I've never heard of these before. Has anybody tried them out?

I feed 'em to some of my pets sometimes..

They are squirmy, sure would get a panfish to bite I'd think, but they may not tolerate the cold too well. I keep 'em in the fridge, and they become more active when they warm up a bit.

I have used the butter worms from FF. and honestly some lakes the fish hit them a lot harder than the waxies. and other lakes the sun fish and crappies don't even sniff the bait. EVERY bait has its time and place for success. i would pick up a few and try them out for yourself. its worth a shot. Oh and they smell kind of strong compared to waxies, this might have something to do with the bite differing sometimes.

they look that they would be the cat's pajamas for gills and crappies, but on the lakes I fish, ive had better luck with spikes! Some fish are looking for big meals and some for smaller presentation I guess. Maybe its a "match the forage" thing.

I saw them in FF last night. They look pretty slick. Larger and more colorful than waxies.

After having Perch and Walleyes slamming them on a day where fish is most finicky as New Years I am firm believer that it works. Well... at least on the lake I tried it on.
