Stores running out of stuff already?

I was at a few stores today buying some gifts and noticed that they were running out of many different items. I've been told I can't buy anything until after we all exchange Christmas gifts but there is a few specific items I want to add to my tackle box. I don't want to not be able to get them after the holidays. Last year there were a few stores that didn't get much stuff back in after the first of the year if they had sold out. Anyone work at any stores that knows if they're planning on reloading on gear after the holidays?

I don't know why stores pull this stuff on us but usually after Christmas the stores in southern parts of the state are already getting ready for open water. May want to order what you want online. Thats just like when I went down to get Halloween candy this year they were already putting candy canes out!

That's my biggest pet peeve about some of the big stores. The in store selection calendar and the outdoor calendar don't come close to matching. Ice stuff is out in the middle of duck season, duck stuff is gone. Turkey loads are gone by "b" season. Ice fishing gear is being packed up mid-february when the best fishing is coming, open water stuff is out...on and on.

I think it is due to the economy the past few years. Retailers don't want to get stuck with inventory because it is dead money for them so they order a small number to make sure they have some. Seems the last 2 -3 years if you wanted something for ice fishing and there was any demand for it you better get it by Xmas time.
