... The other advantage is having them outside the house. Having 1 lb propane tanks inside the house scares me. Having a 10 lb tank it is outside the house instead of inside. If there is a leak there is fire if the propane tank is in the house there is an explosion.

The couple of times I have noticed a leak it was always at the unit and never at the lp tank. I have seen 1 lb tanks leak at lanterns and I have seen leaks at both 1 lb tanks and hose connections on Buddy heaters. Just pay attention and double check before lighting whatever you are lighting.
