01 Accord Clutch

Recommended Posts

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving...

Ihave an 01 accord with 150,000 miles and the clutch is not returning. I noticed last week that it stays "stuck" down but will return if I lift it back up with my foot. A couple people have said it's probably the slave cylinder that is going bad. Any thoughts about how to replace and/or rough cost to have it fixed.

Thanks again

There is a steel line that threads into it and two bolts that hold it to the outside of the transmission. It's a ten minute job to replace and another ten minutes to bleed.

Before you replace it pull the boot back and see if it is leaking. If it is it is bad. If it is not check the fluid level in the clutch master. If it is low or empty look under the dash for signs of fluid leakin out the back of the clutch slave. It is usually one or the other.

Hey Air thanks for the tips...since I'm waiting for my part, I decided to clear the lines of old fluid. I drained it as best I could and blew some air through the system to blow out any junk. My question is, with the reservoir now FULL of new fluid, should it not flow down and out the other end? I assume that since the reservoir is higher than the end of the line gravity should do it's thing???? If it's not "draining" out the end, I'm guessing I have another issue??

Thanks
