Tow Behind Broadcast Spreaders

titelines

Question

All,

I'm looking into a broadcast spreader that I can pull with the ATV and would love to hear any personal experiences or opinions that you may have.

Will be used on terrain spreading seed etc., as well as gravel road spreading ice melt and sand. I want a spreader that's well-made, sturdy, easy to assemble and use. I'd prefer to get one that has good, all-terrain tires and a cover to protect the material. Basically, I want something that'll hold-up to years of use.

So far I like the looks of the following:

- Precision Pro

- DR. Power

- Agri-fab

- Earthway

Any pros or cons to any of these? Any that I'm missing? Does Polaris still make a broadcast spreader? I'd love to get the King Kutter, but it's twice our budget of $300.00 or less.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!!

I have a 125 lb Agri-Fab that I tow behind my atv and use for my food plots. Think it's 10 years old now, it has been bounced around and banged off trees and stumps for years, and is still going strong. I have run literally TONS of lime and fertilizer through it, plus I use it for seeding cereal grains and soybeans. If I'm seeding smaller seeds or smaller amounts I use a hand seeder. It looks a little rough after all these years, but it's held up great and is still working like it should even after years of rough use in rough conditions.

I think that early in its life it was getting flat tires quite frequently, but I had tubes put in the previously tube-less tires and haven't had a problem since then.

Hope that helps.
