Truck bed liner for re-finishing my trailer??

Chode2235

Question

I resurrected an old thread in open water, but thought this might be the right place to get better answers.

I have a Ranger trailer that is starting to get lots of cracks and peeling in the "road armor" coating that came from the factory (dont ask as I get pretty angry about the poor installation), rust is starting to form and bubble on the frame, and am thinking of getting the trailer refinished this winter.

I really like the look of the bed liner, and was thinking of getting it re-coated in Line-X after I get the trailer sandblasted and get all the rust removed from the frame.

Is Line-X the way to go? What about other bed liners like Rhino?

I talked to a body shop today and the guy said that he would stay away from bed liner and go with a nice hardened epoxy paint. Any rationale in that?

Also, if you know a good shop in the metro that can help me out, dont be afraid to name drop as I am seeking out estimates... smile

I have a Rhino liner in my truck bed. Had it sprayed 10 years ago. Brother had a truck with Line-X. The differences I noticed between the 2 brands were the Line-X looked to be thinner and not as bumpy as my Rhino. I wouldn't hesitate to use either brand in the future. I don't see any problem spraying your trailer with the product of your choice.
